Firstly, and of course, let me thank all of the backers that helped in making this tutorial series possible!
The Grimstarter alone raised over 2500.00 dollars with 80 backers! In conjunction with that, many of you also purchased your painting products from the website which is a tremendous help to the Grimdark Compendium.
So I appreciate that and thank you for all of the support! It really blows my mind that the support is there and that folks are willing to put their hard earned money down to bring these tutorials to the community.
Reflection and Change
I’m probably my own biggest critic, often looking at my work very critically and trying to think of ways I can make it better.
One of the issues I had with the set-up and delivery of the Black Legion content is that by the time you watched the Troop Video and later, the basing video, you now possess all of the information needed and even then it’s very loosely drawn out for you.
The rest of the tutorials use the same or similar techniques but over different models and by the end of the series, after covering the same recipe over five different models, I find the information to be redundant.
So going forward I will be making changes to how new tutorial series’ will be set-up.
New Tutorial Series Format
What I want to do going forward and starting with the Daemons of Khorne series is to provide a tutorial series that is more useful and paints a clearer picture.
Instead of the same recipe over five different models, I want to break down each aspect of the overall recipe and show it in more detail.
That idea would allow me to create a video that focuses just on the skin recipe, then a video that focuses on the armor and armor trim, or a video just for cloth, so on and so forth.
To wrap up the series I would then take what I’ve shown in the previous videos and demonstrate it over one or two models and of course, there would be the basing video.
So, with that, I think the viewer will come away with a much more complete idea of what the recipe aims to achieve and how to render it over any model.

Check out the final photos of all the models covered in the series.
Again guys, Thank you very much, I appreciate the support and I’ll catch you in the next one.
