When we hit walls or are just not happy with the outcome of our painting, it’s time to adapt and overcome. Sometimes that means taking a different approach entirely. In this video, I will show you a new technique I’m developing called “Soft Pressing”. This approach focuses on pressing chips, dings, and scratches into a soft-paint layer (much like a clay consistency) before base coloring. The goal is to greatly increase the quality of our battle damage that we typically just paint on to the model.
